Spalding's KOB All-Weather Volleyball will be the tournament’s official ball

The Big Shot Volleyball Championships, presented by Reflekt Polarized sunglasses, will return to Atlantic City on September 7-8, 2013 in front of Bally’s Casino. The tournament is entering its 23rd season bringing top beach volleyball players to Atlantic City

The tournament has a tradition of placing the past winners on the event t-shirt that is given to all of the players each year at registration. Three of the past winners competed in the London 2012 Olympics:
• Phil Dalhausser, 2008 Olympic Gold medalist for the United States
• Steve Grotowski who represented Great Britain
• Marie Andree Lessard who represented Canada

Top male and female doubles teams from throughout the United States and Canada will compete for $8,000 cash prizes at the tournament, courtesy of Bally’s Casino, East End Volleyball and Great American Volleyball. Players will also earn points in the $25,000 Volley America Grand Prix, to be awarded at the end of the season. Tournament play will start at 9 am Saturday with semi-finals and finals starting Sunday at 11 am. Admission is free for all spectators.

The Big Shot Volleyball Series holds 35 events leading to the October 26-27 $5,000 Volley America National Championships at Clearwater Beach, FL. Top male players in this year’s tournament include Jake Elliott from Mt. Pleasant, SC, Adrian Carambula from Miami Beach, and Mike Salak from Brooklyn, NY

Top female players on the East Coast will also be present including Long Island’s Hilary Pavels and Dana Fiume who will team up to be the strongest northeastern representative. Also playing are Viky Balian from Montreal and Emily Darr/Laura Togami from Charleston, SC.

The Big Shot Championships provide an excellent venue to watch top players on their way up to the US Pro Tours. Plus the public will be able to meet and greet the players at the Saturday evening player’s party to be held at Bally’s Bikini Beach Bar from 7-9 pm Saturday.

Separate divisions will be held for players of intermediate and novice levels on Saturday and Sunday. The $60 entry fee entitles players to a full day of tournament play, an official Reflekt Polarized Big Shot Volleyball t-shirt, and prizes from event sponsor’s Bally’s Casino, 4C Totally Light, Reflekt Polarized Sunglasses, SOB Volleyball Vacations, Sprout Watches, Spalding, Sports Authority, ZEMGear, Rider Sandals, Park & Sun net systems, Dig Magazine, Rox Volleyball, 1st Place Volleyball, Sportime, and Horry County.
