Job Description:/h3:
The Assembly Technician works on completion a variety of production, development and experimental assemblies. Possesses thorough knowledge of all assembly, soldering and brazing procedures and processes.

1. Performs any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems: reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
2. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
3. Crimps, screws, bolts, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
4. Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and connectors, on chassis panel.
5. Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering, or bonding procedures and equipment.
6. Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
7. Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
8. Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, and color coding parts and assemblies.
9. Operates machines that balance Rotors.
10. Inspects parts and assemblies using magnifying devices, measuring instruments and electronic test equipment to ensure compliance with production specifications and standards.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, engineering documentation, work instructions, checklists and prints. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Production Supervisors and Manager.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to use measuring equipment.

High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production environment and soldering; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Will train the right candidate.

Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Most work is conducted from a combination of sitting, standing and walking positions. Ability to talk and hear are required. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to handle assembly weighting up to 30lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
