POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales Application Engineer is the primary technical resource and point of contact for the assigned sales territory. He/she is responsible for supporting the sales growth of the Enterprise Solutions Sales team within the region by actively driving and managing the technology assessment stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical adviser and product advocate for our products, as well as providing proper product training to customers and other members of the sales team. The Sales Application Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
:Responsible for all aspects of pre: and post:sales support with opportunities requiring SAE involvement in the territory.
:Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
:Partner with sales teams to develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry:specific solutions.
:Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use, such as IP camera systems, digital video recorders, network video recorders, related electronic products used in the development of video surveillance systems.
:Executes high level system designs that may include: detailed site surveys, camera placement, field of view calculations, pixels on target, bandwidth and storage calculations, BOM construction, site drawings (Visio/CAD), 3rd party product recommendations and integration.
:Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers both remotely via Webinar and on:site as needed
:Provide technical and nontechnical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
:Be able to understand competitive product offerings, create and maintain current competitive and comparative product matrices.
:Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
:Self:motivated with a proven track record in CCTV, computer network, and knowledge of technology.
:Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
:Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports.
:Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive technical approaches.
:Demonstrated success and effective leadership in project management
:Ability to collaborate with cross:functional teams to attain business objectives.
:Advanced level PC skills to include MS Office and MS Project.
:3:5+ years relevant experience in engineering and technical support
:2 years of relevant experience in IP (network) CCTV product.
:5+ years experience in a customer facing pre:sales role, ideally in the field of network video and/or physical security markets
:Employee is occasionally required to lift 20:40 lbs.
:Ability to work with heights (ceilings, ladders, roof tops, etc.) and stand on ladders or lifts for extended period of time.
:Travel up to 75
:Experiences and familiarity in surveillance, IP camera, DVRs, electronics equipment and instrument related industry a plus
:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or Information Systems is required.

CORE SKILLS
:Strong knowledge of the physical security and IT markets. Including complimentary products, technology, future trends, and the market as a whole.
:Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, VPNs, etc.)
:Strong knowledge of video transport protocols and compression technologies.
