Job Description Purpose
The Senior Manager Area Insights and Analytics is responsible for providing insights and analytics support for a sales area within the Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) diabetes business. The Senior Manager will provide support to an area representing approx. 1.5B in sales across 5 to 6 regions. The Senior Manager will function as a strategic partner to the Area Commercial lead and their leadership team who has responsibility over Diabetes sales representatives, Health System representatives, Health System account executives and Diabetes educators. The Senior Manager will proactively identify critical business drivers / opportunities and develop recommendations to guide strategy. An ideal candidate for this role will have strong experience developing insights by analyzing various sources of information, a proven ability to partner with senior level executives, and a demonstrated ability to drive the development of strategic plans to drive business changes.
The Senior Manager Area Insights and Analytics reports to the Director Commercial Insights and Analytics. The senior manager interacts regularly with the Area Commercial Leads, Regional Business Directors, Marketing leadership, Sales Execution leadership and other key stakeholders. External relationships include consultant partners, data providers and information technology partners.
Essential Functions
Establish strategic business partner relationship with Area Commercial Lead and directors. Perform analysis and develop insights based on various market dynamics, including PCP / endo behavior, Health System impact, market access influence and other market players. Develop local market insights to inform commercial strategy, planned tactics and execution. Partner with Area Commercial Lead, directors and Sales Execution to plan and execute key initiatives based on insights and recommendations. Collaborate with other insights and analytics functions, including Marketing Effectiveness and Market Access Effectiveness to align on strategy, share insights and learn from best practices. Partner with Area Commercial Lead, directors and Sales Execution to support business planning process. Conduct deep dives on specific topics within area and regions to find root causes, identify opportunities and define solutions. Establish strong knowledge of local market levers and available tools to define recommendations applicable to defined area and regions. Provide strategic guidance to support existing brands and launch plans.
Physical Requirements
Approximately 25 overnight travel.
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Preferred degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, or business
* A Master's degree is preferred
* 7+ years analytics experience is preferred. Pharmaceutical analytics and/or consulting experience is strongly preferred. Advanced analytical skills preferred
* Comfort operating in a fast:paced, environment, with a focus on delivering high quality analytics, insights and reports
* Advanced analytics and data visualization skills are preferred : R, SAS, Tableau, Qlik, etc...
* Experience with pharmaceutical data, specifically Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, and Chargeback data is preferred
* Innate intellectual curiosity, demonstrated desire to take initiative and ability to think creatively to solve problems
* Project management skills
* Quantitative analysis skills
* Statistical programming experience preferred
