Information Technology Manager – FlagHouse, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ

We are seeking the “Right” Information Technology (IT) Manager candidate to join our dynamic team!

Job Description:

The IT Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer, and is primarily responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the company’s computer and networking systems. The Manager consults with management to determine information technology requirements, and the scope and priorities of new projects. The Manager then directs and manages approved technical projects. This position also is responsible for the integrity and performance of all data processing computing equipment and applications, telecommunications, and data communication systems. The Manager has one direct report, and manages the support relationship with several critical 3rd-Party partners involved in cloud computing, business software applications, and networks.

The IT Team’s overarching goal is to create a satisfying customer experience for all who shop our diverse brands. The department works closely with all other U.S. departments including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, and Distribution, plus our Toronto, Canada division.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver quality results that meet/exceed stated goals. They will bring process-orientation, strong communications skills and a drive for continuous improvement.

Scope of Responsibility and Core Duties:

Administration

Works with senior management to develop and direct the company’s overall IT strategy. Makes recommendations and explains technology solutions to senior management through presentations and advocacy.
Prepares an annual budget. Manages the IT budget and analyzes expenditures for variances, and cost containment and savings. Initiates corrective action as needed. Develops, monitors and controls Purchasing department budget.

Establishes departmental objectives consistent with company goals, anticipated business levels, and service level objectives.

Networking/Telecommunications

Anticipates and assesses business and applications requirements for corporate data and voice networks.
Directs day-to-day operations and maintenance of the company’s networking and telecommunications technology.
Oversees trouble-shooting of network and telecommunications architecture problems.
Designs, plans, and upgrades network and telecommunications installation projects.
Evaluates equipment vendors and builds relationships with service providers. Establishes and negotiates Service Level Agreements. Ensures that any third-party system supplier or maintenance organization provides proper support.
Applications Management (Software and Hardware)

Works with departmental management and end users to analyze important business issues and problems, and assesses how automated systems can be implemented to enhance functionality and solve problems.
Manages the overall coordination of IT applications projects from planning through implementation. Recommends project scope, priorities, deadlines, and deliverable schedules. Facilitates discussions and consensus among various project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

IT Security/Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity

Establishes and monitors back-up, version-control, and viral defense systems.
Performs security audits, risk assessments, and analysis. Makes recommendations for enhancing data security systems. Designs, develops, and implements network security policies and procedures. Ensures the implementation of adequate plans for system and file access control, through carefully guarded and controlled passwords, permissions, and terminal controls, etc.
Analyzes critical business functions, and designs, plans, and implements an enterprise-wide business continuity plan.
Documents business continuity procedures. Makes presentations and recommendations to senior management.
Help Desk and Technical Support

Oversees the operation of the company’s help desk and support services.
Performs root cause analysis of recurring Help Desk and Technical Support problems, and develops and implements preventative measures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 1 employee in the IT Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Miscellaneous:

Participates in key management meetings.

Performs any other duties required to ensure the effective operation of the company.

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus)
Minimum 5 years’ relevant and progressive experience in Information Technology.
Catalog and/or retail channels experience strongly desired.
Excellent communications (written & oral) and project management skills
Strategic planner who executes with integrity to timeline and budget
Proficient with MS Office Suite (advanced Excel is desirable)
Experience with JDA Ecometry/Direct Commerce Suite of supply chain and management software a plus.
