Job Summary
+ Our Client, a global biopharmaceutical leader, is seeking a Hadoop Engineer consultant experienced in Hadoop/Linux environment needed for the data warehouse enhancements capability within the Company s R&D IT. Project assignment includes TR&D scientific data integrations.
+ The candidate will work closely with Company project leads and research scientists to design, develop and deliver the solutions. This is a hands-on role and we are looking for a technically sharp candidate.
+ 50 % ETL Development on Hadoop.
+ 50 % Administration of Hadoop Stack.
Responsibilities
+ Design, Implement and support data ingestion routines in Hadoop.
+ Transform ingested data using PIG/HIVE and load into target repositories (HIVE / HBASE / Oracle / RedShift).
+ Build fault tolerant, self-healing, adaptive and highly accurate ETL platforms.
+ Assist with the development of the data model (s) for the DW guided by the data warehouse architect.
+ Responsible for ETL tuning.
+ Accountable for storage, performance tuning and volume management of Hadoop clustersSetup, configuration and security for Hadoop clusters using Kerberos.
Qualifications
Education
+ Bachelor s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Experience
+ Deep understanding of Hadoop, relational databases and data integration technologies.
+ 2+ years development experience with Hadoop Preferably Hortonworks, Informatica Big Data Edition, PIG, Hive , Oozie & Sqoop.
+ 5+ years ETL experience using Oracle, Informatica Power center, PL/SQL.
+ Experience with Hadoop Stack Upgrade / Patching, Experience with KERBEROS is a must.
+ Experience in creating ETL using disparate data sources such as flat files, databases, xml files and unstructured data &/ web services.
+ Strong in Unix shell scripting.
+ Good understanding of: Data Partitioning, Bucketing, ETL Optimization.
+ Experience playing a leadership role in enterprise-wide Data Quality Management, Data Resource Management, Data Stewardship and/or Data Administration programs at a large company similar to the Company.
+ Familiarity with process improvement frameworks such as the SEI CMMI.
+ Master Data Hub architecture, data design and implementation.
+ Data Quality Management and Data Architecture standardization.
+ Metadata management, design and integration.
+ Data Warehouse architecture, data design and implementation.
+ ERP Data Architecture.
+ Experience in Computer Systems Validation and Software Quality Assurance.
+ Management style that exhibits high energy, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation.
Data Architect to assist with the development of:
+ A Data Management Process Framework and Capability Maturity Model.
+ Development of a quantitative maturity assessment/scoring model.
+ Execution of Data Management Capability Maturity Assessment for specific functional areas of the business.
Provide leadership in defining an enterprise information architecture including:
+ Data Architecture Process Standards.
+ Metadata Management Infrastructure Strategy.
+ Master Data Hub Technology Architecture.
+ Architectural Deliverables associated with Portfolio Management and SDLC.
+ Develops value-added, strategic solutions and sharing of best practices throughout the organization and the architectural community.
+ Collaborate with Global Shared Service Governance teams to institutionalize policy, standards and project related architectural deliverables.
+ Facilitates agreement of Enterprise Architecture definitions with Global Shared Service partners.
+ Provides leadership and direction for the definition of an enterprise data architecture that supports the business information needs
+ Collaborate across information management to identify opportunities to leverage common solutions and extend the adoption of standards.
+ Leads market awareness around evolving industry standards (i.e. SPL, HL7, ICH) and existing industry initiatives.
+ Leads technical interests in collaboration with outside vendors.
+ Communicate with team members and other stakeholders in a timely and effective manner in order to keep them apprised of data architecture status and relevant issues of interest to, and impact on, the clients and their business areas.
Technical qualifications will include:
+ Data Modeling
+ Physical database design and database tuning expertise
+ RDBMS skills
+ SQL and PL/SQL experience
+ Tool(s) proficiency such as ERWin, ETL (Informatica PowerCenter), Data Profiling, Siperian Master Reference Manager (MRM)
+ Skills: Hadoop
Skills
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
+ Proven analytical skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional data standardization requirements.
+ Ability to resolve complex issues relate to enterprise wide data architecture concerns.
+ Ability to architect data management enterprise solutions that are in alignment with strategic technology roadmap and emerging industry trends.
+ Effective in matrix management and team building
+ Poise, maturity and communication skills necessary to represent the data architecture group internally and externally
+ Strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills
